Cordelia is Veronica's mother and a daughter of Houjo Kaneoto. Veronica said that she was hunted by assassins. Houjo also commented that her skill as a young woman could rival his own. Houjo said that he sired around fifty years ago and that she was his first daughter. Veronica said that she had admiration for Houjo. In the sixth page of chapter 66 at the bottom she can be partially seen talking to a young Veronica. Her hair and face are obscured by a hood while she sits in a rocking-chair. In chapter 82 it was revealed by Oubliettte that when he was a soldier he tried courting her unsuccessfully. He also says that she was stronger then him. She married a normal citizen. Her husband died in accident. Soon after she died of an illness.
